Something To Read

Friend Donna has posted about a particular bit of research that may be promising for treating us metastatic breast cancer folk.  As with many other potential treatments for truly deadly and horrendous diseases, this one involves stem cell research.  Please read about it - there may not be anything solid we can do to further the cause at the moment, but it's good to be aware and ready to move (in the right direction) when the time comes.

Let's hope this young man's discovery will trigger renewed interest in stem cell research and cancer treatments!

How are you doing, Dear Lady?

I got one of my drains out today. Still have one left. Lab tests came back that my infection is "rare gram negative rods" so they put me on antibiotics for that. Then new lab tests came in showing that I also have "rare gram positive rods". Yippee! Needless to say, I am now on two antibiotics (again) and am worried about what is going to happen in my gut! It's a good thing that I like "Activia" yogurt!

Hey Eileen, been so busy here doing who knows what. LOL don't know how this stupid cancer keeps me busy compared to what--oh dear, those darned words again--I used to accomplish. I think of you all the time, however, and wish I could stop by so we could visit with that cup of tea.
I don't like it that you have heart complications, and I will register my opinions on that to the powers to be.

When I see these articles on promising trials, I just wish I could whip out the lamp with that genie and fast-forward to a happy conclusion.

Love and hugs,
donna

Eileen--Just thought you might like to know about these healthy popsicle kits--originally made for people on chemo. Cool idea! http://www.thelinemedia.com/features/hopefullfeature092811.aspx?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheLineMedia+%28The+Line+Media%29&utm_content=Google+Reader
